Fixing two common modular tile problems.
Thank you very much to my new editor, Liamrups, for saving me a lot of time and energy!
So, Square dungeon walls get boring. And take longer to make than we'd like. Let's fix that.

I FINALLY Fixed a MAJOR Problem with Modular Dungeons.

Can I Make D&D Sewers Affordable AND Epic?
Переглядів 306 тис.9 місяців тому
Sewer tiles are great for D&D, but I felt the existing options just didn’t give that 'epic fantasy' feel, and were a bit…small. So I designed these tiles to work with my existing systems so you can build a huge, epic sewer with minimal extra effort or pieces! 3Degos Link removed due to unexpected poor service. The clip will be (hopefully) removed from the video in due time. I can only apologise...

Soul Columns of the Necrolords: A Modular Grimdark Terrain piece

Grimdark terrain is thematically AWESOME. I've been looking to include more of this style into my highly modular systems for months now - and this is the result. Grimdark stuff is a hell of a terrain aesthetic, but I think it only works for certain factions - that's why I'm working on this new series of Elegant Evil tiles to allow me to add so much more modular flavour to a ton of evil factions...

Detailed War Camps for the Discerning Warlord - Tents for D&D.

Tents Will Get Used. In D&D, it's pretty much that simple. Players will camp, pitch tents, and sooner or later, get ambushed or attacked - it's so common it's practically a trope! But more than this, sooner or later, players often end up infiltrating an enemy camp for one reason or another. Tents are such a universally useful thing to have on hand, but I've never been happy with the methods oft...
Make Realistic Volcanic Lava Terrain For D&D and Wargaming!

Realistic Volcanic Lava Terrain is almost universally useful. From D&D to 40k, Age of Sigmar to Star wars Legion and of course, Mordor from Lord of the Rings, almost any RPG or Wargaming setting has a use for Lava wasteland terrain, and unlike much terrain - it often adds a huge tactical dimension through it's sheer lethality. The problem I often have with this kind of terrain is the volcanic a...

    Idk how you make the magnetization look so simple and easy. I'm brand new to crafts, and what keeps happening to me is two magnets will pop off instead of just one, and while trying to get the second magnet off, I end up ripping out the first one and having to redo it.

    • @RPArchiveOfficial
      @RPArchiveOfficial 3 дні тому

      The key is indenting the magnet a little so they don't touch when connected. Touching makes them far stronger and more prone to that Using the glue gun I recommend in the equipment list also helps because it makes a nice tight hole for them :)

    Looking at this, thinking about my players saying they want to try a sailing campaign, looking through the Ghosts of Saltmarsh vehicles section. You know, you could make modular boats pretty dang easy (they're literally all 4 tiles wide), and even integrate them into some water pieces. It'd be pretty cool having the below decks sections actually below the water line :-)

    step 1: get a hot glue gun step 2: just deadass make one using what u have no hate, but for these kinds of construction videos, idk how to search but like I'm looking for cool "mechanics" that u can use or new ways to use them, like magnets, or hot glue as see through materials or crystals, or LEDs or camp fires using LED tea lights. Any idea where to find more ideas like those? or like black lights on maps with hidden secrets.

    If all your tiles are 3x3 or whatever, couldn't you build your tiles to fit into a premade silicon cube mold of that size? So that you don't have to make and destroy custom mold boxes every time? or would there be an increased leakage issue?

    Your videos and ideas are Awesome. I am just starting to getting into DND since I was a kid. Anyways the one question I have is should the grid system be 1 inch or 1.25. The minis I have all go over the 1 inch but fit nicely on 1.25. These are wizkid deep cuts minis.

    • @RPArchiveOfficial
      @RPArchiveOfficial Місяць тому

      The grid is there but I never even use it anymore. Ruler and measuring is so much better, just by giving everyone a little measuring pipe cleaner :) It's designed around 1" though, 1. 25 won't fit the tiles, and changing widths messes with tile compatibility

    • @RPArchiveOfficial
      @RPArchiveOfficial Місяць тому

      Theoretically yes, but Stls (jigs, accessories) are designed for the size I show so rescaling would be needed, and accessories in particular may nit work if rescaled because the weight/magnets are designed for the scale I show :) But other than that should be fine

    I have a newbie DM Question: (TLDR: How does a DM handle tiles if the players are in larger locations, separated or moving too much for one detailed location?) As a new DM, I have been using maps printed on paper made by Reddit for my campaign. I am running Dragon of Ice spire Peak with a mix of my story. I use a combination of 3d printed figures for close encounters and colored beads for battles spread across larger battlefield or if players separate to different locations. Right now my players are in Gnomengarde and are split of either side of the map. I love the idea of Tiles, but I feel like I would have to have a humungous table for my party in order to play larger areas. That being said, if the players decide to leave the setup, I would have to take it all down and rebuild a new location. I love the idea of building huge sets with immersive details but I just feel like my efforts would go to waste. I don't want to railroad my players into staying in one location but I also hate just using such flat maps for them.

    • @RPArchiveOfficial
      @RPArchiveOfficial Місяць тому

      The modular tiles makes setup of smaller areas quite quick, but I'd only break out the terrain for combat. Exploration on a map :)

    i use standard crystal clear resin (a gallon on amazon cost like 40$ )for the ripples i use a uv resin (again amazon like 10$) which cuts drying time to handling down to a min or two. just make sure the UV resin is clear otherwise you will end up with a mess once the resin underneath (that didn't get enough UV light) starts to leak out.........not cool!
